Wanted to try this place for a while. Ordered the breakfast poutine and strawberry french toast. Both were delicious. The potatoes were crispy and seasoned well. Would recommend coming to try or looking for a brunch place.
First time trying this place. Great service and the food was delicious. I ordered the tuna melt with tomato soup with cheese, cinnamon buns, classic benny. All very delicious. And would definitely come back
Took me a while but I finally made it to the sweatered hen! What a cute spot. The service was on point, the patio was perfect, and the food was really good! We got the breakfast burger which was delicious and the spicy chicken sandwich, we thought was just okay. The fries and potatoes were so good though! Perfectly seasoned, fresh and crispy. Really enjoyed out experience. Looking forward to going back to try the tuna Melt!
I recently visited Sweatered Hen for brunch, and overall, the experience was just okay. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable, but nothing particularly stood out. We tried the BBQ breakfast bowl, which was a bit too saucy for my liking and could’ve used more potatoes to balance it out. The breakfast burger was decent, but what really impressed us were the potatoes served on the side—they were crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for standout brunch potatoes, this place has them. Otherwise, it was a fairly average brunch experience.
I appreciate a business that responds to their reviews and I was really excited to try out a new brunch spot after hearing great things about Sweatered Hen. We were lucky to have our choice of seating when we arrived on Saturday, which was a nice start. However, the service was a bit disappointing as it took quite a while to get our order. We weren't given water until requested which was weird. When the water did arrive, the cups had such a strong chemical smell that I couldn’t bring myself to drink from them. Stuck to our Soda/Coffee instead. The Carne Asada Bowl had a generous portion of steak, which I appreciated, but it lacked flavor. The ham in the Henny Benny was really tasty, but the potatoes were extremely salty and we couldn’t finish them. I’m glad they’re doing well, but based on this experience, I don’t think I’d go back.
The food was absolutely amazing! Erika, Ingrid and the rest of the team provided top-notch service and they were incredibly accommodating. It’s a perfect 10/10 for the ambiance, Instagram-worthy vibes, stunning food presentation, and a marvelous selection of drinks! It’s a good thing I booked a reservation before 10am coz it’s always full. I will definitely come back here.
Saw on maps and thought this place was newer, as there wasn’t too many views. But the food looked great from the pictures, so I knew I had to try. And man this place did not disappoint. Potatoes were crispy, meat was soft and tender, sauces and seasonings were perfect. Now I know my go-to brunch spot in downtown.
